Season Leaderboards

A new Seasonal Leaderboard for Players to compete upon and earn rewards accompanies each Season. While Players are always rewarded for their strategic acumen, these Leaderboards aim to reward active participants in the game, skillful or not.\
\
During a given Season, Players earn Leaderboard Points🏆 through the completion of certain in-game Actions that fall under Leaderboard Action Categories. These Actions are scored Leaderboard Points🏆 based on their expenditure of Energy⚡ or some similar metric. Leaderboard Action Categories are also scaled by a Bonus🎁 multiplier which may factor in: WOOL💰 spent on the type of Action, Risk💀, and the Shep’s Kiss😘 (a multiplier assigned by The Shepherd to tune numbers and/or incentivize certain play).\
\
Note that Leaderboard Action Categories, scoring methodology, and Bonus🎁 multipliers are subject to change from Season to Season.

Leaderboard Rewards

Seasonal Leaderboards pay out all participants.\
\
Players will earn a percentage of WOOL from the total Leaderboard Prize Pool offered for a given Season. This percentage is based off of the Player’s share of Leaderboard Points🏆 compared to the sum of Leaderboard Points🏆 earned by all Players.\
\
For example, Player A earned 1,000 Leaderboard Points🏆. The sum of Leaderboard Points🏆 earned by all Players was 100,000. This means Player A earned 1% of the total Leaderboard Points🏆 and will earn 1% of the Leaderboard Prize Pool.\
\
The Prize Pool for Seasonal Leaderboards shall be disclosed before the Season begins and may be sourced from Farm recirculation, Community Rewards, and/or The Shepherd's Pouch. The majority of the Leaderboard’s WOOL Prize shall be attempted to be sourced from the ever-growing Farm recirculation Pool.\
\
After the Season, Players will be able to claim their WOOL winnings in the form of a Wool Pouch.\ <br>

Discover Shiny Boxes

When Gathering, a Sheep🐑 may discover a Shiny Box📦. The chances of discovering a Shiny Box📦 depend on several factors:

* The combined Community Silo levels of the Community in which the Sheep🐑 is gathering.
* Communities compete over this discovery chance enhancement, meaning that a higher level Community will benefit from fewer high level Communities on The Farm.
* The longer a Sheep🐑 is Gathering, the higher their discovery chance.

\
Thousands of Shiny Boxes📦 are distributed to Sheep🐑 Farm-wide daily, but more valuable items are increasingly rare.\
\
Sheep🐑 are given indication when Shiny Boxes📦 are discovered. After successfully claiming Resources during Gathering, any Shiny Boxes📦 that have been discovered will be claimed. Note that more than one Shiny Box📦 can be found and stacked within a single Gathering action.\
\
Wolf🐺 Looters are unaware of the amount of Shiny Boxes📦 a Sheep🐑 currently holds. When Looted, a Wolf🐺 automatically steals all Shiny Boxes📦 held by the Looted Sheep🐑 with ease, regardless of the Looting Minigame outcome.\
\
Shiny Boxes📦 may also be earned by Landowners as described below, and distributed through other means in the future, including via the participation of Peak Games, and more.\
\
Shiny Boxes: Landowners

After 100 Shiny Boxes📦 are found by Sheep🐑 in a Community, an amount of Shiny Boxes📦 are discovered by the Landowners of that Community equivalent to the sum of its Silo Levels. These Shiny Boxes📦 are entered into a raffle for Landowners to receive, weighted more towards Players who have contributed the most Resources to the Resource Silos in that Community. Note that in the context of these Shiny Box📦 raffles, the tracked Silo contributions made by Players are reset at the start of each Season.

\
Shiny Box Contents

Players see the number of Shiny Boxes📦 they own in their Resources Bar, and clicking on their icon allows Players to view their Shiny Box📦 Inventory, which contains both unrevealed Shiny Boxes📦 and usable Shiny Items that were once contained within them.\
\
When unboxed, a Shiny Box📦 rewards Players with its contents by crediting Players directly, or by rewarding them with a usable item. The contents are randomly determined, and content types have varying rarities. Only a handful of “Jackpot” items may be found Farm-wide daily, while some “Super Jackpot” items may have very few, if any, found weekly.\
\
The following is a list of Shiny Box📦 Contents at the launch of the Season of Revelation:

| Item | Description | Rarity |

This Item persists in a Player’s Inventory until used. | Rare |
| Siphon | The Siphon Item allows Sheep🐑 and Wolves🐺 to deploy a nefarious device that steals a portion of a Land’s claimed taxes for 14 days. If a Landowner does not claim a Siphoned Land’s taxes, instead of any Resources being burnt, they will instead be redirected to Siphoners. A Siphoning animal may not take actions until the Siphon concludes or is canceled by its user. Animals have different Siphoning effectiveness depending on their type, which determines the percent of taxes they will steal. From lowest to highest effectiveness: Sheep🐑, Black Sheep🐑, A5, A6, A7, and A8 Wolves🐺. If more than one animal is Siphoning a Land, their Siphoned amounts are distributed among all animals, weighted by their effectiveness. This Item persists in a Player’s Inventory until used. | Rare |
| Gen 2 Sheep Orphan | When a Gen 2 Sheep Orphan is found, the Player will be able to mint a new Gen 2 Sheep🐑 with randomized traits and a Max Energy⚡ of 375-500. This Item persists in a Player’s Inventory until used. | Jackpot |

The above reflects the list of Shiny Box Contents discoverable at the launch of the Season of Revelation. Contents and rarities are subject to change during the Season.\
\
Shiny Box Market and Economy

At Season 1 launch, Shiny Boxes📦 can be bought and listed for sale in an in-game Box Market, priced in WOOL.\
\
Note that all Shiny Box📦 sales incur a 5% WOOL fee added to its listing price. These fees are recirculated and burned according to the current ratios listed in the Woolpaper or changed through WOOL Governance voting.\
\
Once unboxed, Shiny Boxes📦 cannot be listed on the Box Market.\
\
During Season 1, a Shiny Item Market will become available for buying and listing Shiny Items for sale.\ <br>

Pelts & Wolf Sacrifice

At last, Pelts arrive on The Farm starting in the Season of Revelation and can be acquired through the sacrifice of Wolves🐺. The number of Pelts acquired in this method is determined by the following formula:\ <br>

Pelts = (Wolf🐺 Max Energy⚡ / 1000) \* Wolf🐺 Alpha Score\
As an exception to the above formula, the sacrifice of an Alpha 8 Wolf returns \[REDACTED] Pelts.\
\
High-End Structure Levels

Launching with the Season of Revelation are the addition of 4 new Structure Levels for each type of Structure.\
\
Each new Structure Level enhances the existing utility of current Structures, and some Structures beyond Level 3 offer new and exciting features.\
\
Note that the listed Resource Cost values for Level 4-7 Structures represent the starting values at the launch of the Season of Revelation. However, these Structure Costs may change over time due to them being subject to Variable Rate Gradual Dutch Auction (VRGDA) mechanics.\
\
While 100% of Resources spent upgrading Level 1-3 Structures are burned, a small percentage of Resources and Pelts spent on Level 4+ Structure Upgrades are being set aside for \[REDACTED].\ <br>

Barns

Starting with Level 4 Barns, when Breeding, there is a chance that the offspring is a Wolf🐺 instead of a Sheep🐑. These Wolves🐺 are born with randomized traits and 599 Max Energy⚡.<br>

Dens

When Breeding, there is a chance that the Gen 2 Wolf🐺 is produced with Upgrades added to their predetermined Alpha Score. This chance is influenced by the Alpha Score of the parents.\
\
If the outcome of an Upgraded Breed would produce an A8, it instead produces a Twin Gen 2 Wolf🐺 with 598 Max Energy⚡, an 89% chance of being an A5, a 10% chance of being an A6, and a 1% chance of being an A7. The twin is “fraternal”; its traits are randomized.

PEAK LAND LEADERBOARDS

Starting in Season 1, Peak Landowners compete upon a specialized Leaderboard for a Peak Land WOOL Reward Pool. For Season 1, this shall be 15M WOOL.\
\
The Peak Land Leaderboard mimics the Seasonal Leaderboard with some exceptions:

* Only Peak Landowners receive Peak Land Leaderboard Points🏆 towards the Peak Land Leaderboard.
* Peak Lands provide a Bonus Multiplier towards a Player’s final score. This multiplier is additive, meaning that if a Player owns several Peak Lands, their multipliers are added before being applied as a bonus. See the below table for details.
* The Peak Lands multiplier factors in the ownership of the Peak Land by a Player over the course of the Season. For example, if a Player holds the Peak Land in their wallet for half the Season, they only receive half its stated multiplier.
* A practical example: a Player owns two Peak Level 1 Lands for the entirety of the Season and a Peak Level 2 Land for half of the Season. The Level 1 Lands total a 2x multiplier, and the Level 2 Land totals a 1.3x multiplier. That Player’s total Peak Land Bonus Multiplier for the Season is a total of 3.3x.
* A Player’s final score is square rooted at the end of the calculation to ensure better mathematical fairness while still rewarding players for owning multiple Peak Lands.
* The Peak is the Land of the Wolves🐺. As such, both Peak Games and Wolf🐺 Leaderboard Action Categories gain an additional bonus on the Peak Land Leaderboard.

# Wool Paper

Part 1: Introduction

In a quaint region of the metaverse, Sheep and Wolves on the blockchain compete for a tempting prize of WOOL, with deadly high stakes.\
\
Following a long journey through the original Wolf Game, Risky Game, Cave Game, and Alpha Game, the flock arrives at the Genesis Lands.\
\
The Sheep aim to live a simple life on the Farm, collecting resources and breeding their next generation. But the Wolves have plans to loot their spoils, steal their young, and sabotage the Farm.\
\
Players must strategize to build their domain, expand their packs, and win as much WOOL as they can.<br>

\
\
The tl;dr

* The initial version of the full Wolf Game is here. The game and economy are living, breathing ecosystems.
* The game is simple to play yet brimming with choices. Be strategic.
* The 20,000 Genesis Lands are open for play. Each Land is part of one of the 101 Communities.
* Stealing is back, with entirely novel mechanics. Wolves can now actively attempt to steal Gen 2 Sheep who are being bred in barns. Sheep can aim to thwart their efforts.
* Five new in-game, off-chain resources are introduced: CHOPS, GRASS, STONE, WATER, and WOOD. WOOL remains the sole utility and governance token of Wolf Game, and the only on-chain resource.
* The game uses a hybrid Web 3-Web 2 architecture. Your NFTs live on the blockchain. Gameplay takes place off-chain.

Why the game is innovative

Prior to Wolf Game, few blockchain games had been built with crypto natives in mind. The release of the original Wolf Game in November 2021 introduced crypto natives to a new paradigm in gaming centered around risk, game theory, and community.\
\
The full Wolf Game is built for crypto native gamers and non-gamers alike, with paths toward expansion to a larger audience. Its design unites learnings from the start of development of the original game up until now.

![](https://wolf.game/images/woolpaper/Start_Collecting_Water.gif)Low Time Requirement, High Thought Requirement![](https://wolf.game/images/woolpaper/wolf_successful_steal.gif)

Wolf Game is simple to play and requires little of your time, but requires much thought to compete effectively. Players of Risky Game and Alpha Game experienced this phenomenon with very few choices available. Now, multiply your range of choices by 10 for the full game.\
\
Which Community should I collect WATER in? When is the right time to remove my sheep from the barn? Should I build a den or a bathhouse? Shall I share, or be greedy? The list goes on.\
\
Every action you take will ultimately impact your WOOL winnings. Nothing is superfluous. Nothing is for decoration. And there is no free lunch.\
\
The game also incorporates a new type of gameplay with asynchronous PvP game theory. By not requiring users to be online at the same time for head to head competition, users are more able to compete based on their availability; they also must be more strategic, and plan for a variety of scenarios.

![](https://wolf.game/images/woolpaper/Gambit_Grass_Intro.gif)Ubiquitous, Novel Macro & Micro Game Theory![](https://wolf.game/images/woolpaper/BM_blocked.gif)

The outcome and impact of every choice you make in Wolf Game is dependent on the strategy and choices of other players, and social dynamics. The game includes both macro-level game theory and micro games centered on human psychology and economics.\
\
A primary example of this is Sheep breeding, a multiplayer PvP feature of the game. While many breeding mechanics in NFTs and elsewhere are predictable, Sheep breeding is gamified, and your newly bred Sheep (itself, a mintable NFT) can be stolen by other players. At a macro level, Sheep must be selective about when and where to breed based on barn availability (determined by Landowners and Sheep), breeding fees (determined by Landowners), Wolf population and status (determined by Wolf owners), opportunity costs, and market dynamics. Wolves must be selective about when to attempt to steal a Gen 2, and which barn to target based on many of the same factors, and others. Macro game theory transitions to the micro when a Wolf attempts to steal a Sheep and finds itself in a head to head game.\
\
Another example: when a Wolf attempts to loot a Sheep, an asynchronous head-to-head game is played between the two players. The game will go live with two of these head-to-head micro games. Players must utilize information about the game state and historical information to inform their decision-making.\
\
At every step of the game, all players’ choices are interlinked.

![](https://wolf.game/images/woolpaper/Build_Barn_Load.gif)Player-Guided, Evolving Economy with Active Landowners![](https://wolf.game/images/woolpaper/build_farm_bathhouse.gif)

As in real-world economies, supply and demand will determine many of the values in the game economy. Community tax rates will be voted on by Landowners. Fees to breed and recharge in structures will also be set by them.\
\
In many games of the past, Landowners could simply collect fees passively. In Wolf Game, Landowners who do not keep up with the times will falter, impacting not only themselves but their wider Communities. Furthermore, taxes of Landowners who do not engage with the game will be burned.

![](https://wolf.game/images/woolpaper/Burn_for_MEAT.gif)Off-chain resources and In-Game Automated Market Maker (AMM)![](https://wolf.game/images/woolpaper/Exchange_Resource.gif)

Designing high-performing single-token game economies is difficult, and multi-token economies are prone to user confusion, low liquidity, and high transaction costs.\
\
Wolf Game aims to unite the best of both worlds. It includes a single-token economy centered around WOOL, with five off-chain resources: CHOPS, GRASS, STONE, WATER, WOOD. These off-chain resources are exchangeable for one another in the in-game AMM, providing high liquidity, no transaction costs, and the same price discovery algorithm that we are all familiar with.

![](https://wolf.game/images/woolpaper/Apply_Farmer.gif)Diverse Game & Metagame Experiences![](https://wolf.game/images/woolpaper/Build_Den.gif)

Gameplay in Wolf Game is not only about the video game. It is also about the wider crypto metagame played around the various tokens one can hold, the communities we are part of, the dissemination of information, and the relationships and alliances we form.\
\
Wolf Game is designed to provide innovative game mechanics and a best-in-class metagame experience for its participants, with a vast range of choices for players in both dimensions.\
\
Land, Wolves, Sheep, and Farmers each provide unique gameplay experiences and decision points.

![](https://wolf.game/images/woolpaper/End_Collecting_No_Attack.gif)Technology & Transparency![](https://wolf.game/images/woolpaper/wolf_visit_peak.gif)

With every architecture decision, we must consider carefully what lives in the Web3 world and what lives in the Web2 world. Factors that influence these decisions include the state of blockchain technology and the associated user experience, innovation and build speed, and desired gameplay mechanics.\
\
The original Wolf Game was an entirely on-chain game. Then, the initial design of the full game called for use of an L2. Subsequently, the revamped design of the full game called for a Web 3-Web 2 hybrid architecture with zero knowledge proofs for stealing and looting gameplay. However, we ultimately proceeded with the paradigm of ownership on-chain, and gameplay off-chain. We are taking an innovation-first approach to product development and will always be evaluating the on-chain versus off-chain tradeoffs as the game and space advance.\
\
Currently, gameplay is off-chain for the following reasons:

* Innovation Speed:\
Expanding the horizons of Web3 gaming and being a leading community in the space require building rapidly. The hybrid Web 3-Web 2 architecture has enabled faster development and game design improvement. Especially in the early stages of the game, adjustments will be required to create the best experience possible for users; being able to iterate rapidly without the development overhead of numerous smart contracts will be important.
* Inherent Trust:\
Trustlessness and transparency are two of the core characteristics that make blockchains special. But let us not forget that people join communities specifically because they trust teams like ours: teams who have shown a consistent ability to execute and a desire to innovate. We make decisions every day with the entirety of the Wolf Game community in mind: What game mechanics will come next? What is the next token? What are the costs of game actions? How will the brand be positioned? These decisions are more impactful than whether the game mechanics themselves live on the blockchain, and we are grateful for the trust of the community.
* User Experience:\
The feature set of 100% on-chain gaming has its limits. Blockchain transparency creates challenges around some of the most exciting forms of game theory, including gameplay based on hidden information and information asymmetry. These challenges are solvable on the blockchain, with time.

![](https://wolf.game/images/woolpaper/Upgrade_Community.gif)Evolving Economy![](https://wolf.game/images/woolpaper/Sabotage.gif)

The Wolf Game economy is a living, breathing ecosystem designed to function like real-world economies. While the actions of players will have the foremost influence on the economy, The Shepherd will also guide the economy and address imbalances. With tuning controls in place, the game can be steered in the right direction.

Part 2: Game MechanicsCommunities

The game is played on 101 Communities made up of the 20,000 Genesis Lands![](https://wolf.game/images/woolpaper/land.png).\
\
Community #0 is The Peak, where Wolves![](https://wolf.game/images/woolpaper/wolf.png) breed and recharge.\
\
Communities #1 through #100 are The Farm, where a majority of gameplay takes place. Each Farm Community has a unique set of characteristics:

* Resource Composition: Communities have four types of terrain, each of which produce a different resource. Pasturelands produce GRASS; Quarries produce STONE; Forests produce WOOD; and Lakes produce WATER. The daily production rate for each Resource is firstly dependent on the composition of the underlying Lands![](https://wolf.game/images/woolpaper/land.png). For example, a Community with more Lake surface area than other Communities will produce more WATER (but less of other Resources).
* Resource Levels: Players can increase the daily production rate of a Resource![](https://wolf.game/images/woolpaper/table.png) within a Community by permanently contributing their personal Resources to Community Silos![](https://wolf.game/images/woolpaper/table.png). Conversely, Wolves![](https://wolf.game/images/woolpaper/wolf.png) can diminish the daily production rate of a Resource by Sabotaging![](https://wolf.game/images/woolpaper/table.png); higher Alpha Wolves are more destructive. At the start of the game, all Resources are Level 1 and can be increased up to Level 4![](https://wolf.game/images/woolpaper/table.png).
* Defense Level: Players can fortify their Communities by contributing their personal Resources to the Community Defense Silo![](https://wolf.game/images/woolpaper/table.png). On the contrary, Wolves![](https://wolf.game/images/woolpaper/wolf.png) can damage Defense by Sabotaging the Community![](https://wolf.game/images/woolpaper/table.png); higher Alpha Wolves are more destructive. As Defense Level increases in a Community,Wolves![](https://wolf.game/images/woolpaper/wolf.png) must spend more Energy to Steal, Loot, and Sabotage![](https://wolf.game/images/woolpaper/table.png).
* Weather: There are three types of Weather: Sunny, Cloudy, and Rainy. Weather is independent across Communities. Each day at midnight Eastern Standard Time, the Weather in a Community will be updated according to its 60-day weather forecast. Weather affects Collecting Resources in two ways![](https://wolf.game/images/woolpaper/table.png):
  * The Weather on the day that a Sheep![](https://wolf.game/images/woolpaper/sheep.png) begins Collecting a Resource determines which of two Looting Games will be played, should a Wolf![](https://wolf.game/images/woolpaper/wolf.png) Loot the Sheep![](https://wolf.game/images/woolpaper/sheep.png).
  * The Weather on the day that a Sheep![](https://wolf.game/images/woolpaper/sheep.png) chooses to end Collecting or is Looted by a Wolf![](https://wolf.game/images/woolpaper/wolf.png) determines a multiplier on the amount of Resources collected.
* Tax Rate: Landowners![](https://wolf.game/images/woolpaper/land.png) will continuously vote on a Tax Rate on all Resources collected within their Community. Taxes apply to Resources collected by Sheep in all scenarios, whether Looted or not; however, taxes do not apply to Resources Looted by Wolves. The Tax Rate is equal to the average vote of all of the Landowners![](https://wolf.game/images/woolpaper/land.png) in the Community.
  * The distribution of earned taxes to Landowners![](https://wolf.game/images/woolpaper/land.png) is proportional to the Resource Composition of their specific Lands![](https://wolf.game/images/woolpaper/land.png); note that the specific Land![](https://wolf.game/images/woolpaper/land.png) on which Collection took place does not affect tax distribution. (As a simple example, pretend there is a Community with a tax rate of 10% made up of just two Lands, X and Y. Land X has equal parts Pasturelands, Quarries, Forests, and Lakes. Land Y is entirely a Forest. Sheep Z chops 100 WOOD on Land X. The owner of Land X will receive 2 WOOD; the owner of Land Y will receive 8 WOOD).
  * Landowners![](https://wolf.game/images/woolpaper/land.png) must claim their taxes at least once every 7 days; any unclaimed taxes will be burned, though there will be a grace period at the time of launch.
  * At the time of claim, Landowners![](https://wolf.game/images/woolpaper/land.png) may also use a Farmer![](https://wolf.game/images/woolpaper/farmer.png) to boost the amount they collect on a single Land![](https://wolf.game/images/woolpaper/land.png); following this, the Farmer![](https://wolf.game/images/woolpaper/farmer.png) will need to Cool Down![](https://wolf.game/images/woolpaper/table.png).
  * To all Sellers of Land: any unclaimed Taxes or WOOL Fees will be transferred to a Buyer of your Land. Be sure to claim prior to selling.

Structures: Barns, Bathhouses and Dens

To build or upgrade a Structure, a Landowner![](https://wolf.game/images/woolpaper/land.png) must spend the required amount of WOOL![](https://wolf.game/images/woolpaper/wool.png) and other Resources. At launch, the game has three levels for each Structure. Higher level Structures offer benefits to their users.\
\
The game has three types of Structures:

* Barns: where a single pair of Sheep![](https://wolf.game/images/woolpaper/sheep.png) breed. These can be built only on The Farm. Higher level Barns reduce breeding time and increase the cost for Wolves![](https://wolf.game/images/woolpaper/wolf.png) to thieve![](https://wolf.game/images/woolpaper/table.png).
* Bathhouses: where a single Sheep![](https://wolf.game/images/woolpaper/sheep.png) or Wolf![](https://wolf.game/images/woolpaper/wolf.png) recharges their Energy. Sheep![](https://wolf.game/images/woolpaper/sheep.png) may only utilize Bathhouses on The Farm![](https://wolf.game/images/woolpaper/table.png). Wolves![](https://wolf.game/images/woolpaper/wolf.png) may only utilize Bathhouses on The Peak. Higher level Bathhouses reduce the time for Sheep![](https://wolf.game/images/woolpaper/sheep.png) and Wolves![](https://wolf.game/images/woolpaper/wolf.png) to recharge fully![](https://wolf.game/images/woolpaper/table.png), or offer them Jugs with greater amounts of immediate Energy. With this in mind, Bathhouse owners must choose between one of two configurations, attainable by draining or refilling a Bathhouse at any time for a WOOL![](https://wolf.game/images/woolpaper/wool.png) fee:
  * Filled Bathhouses: Sell exclusive access to Sheep![](https://wolf.game/images/woolpaper/sheep.png) or Wolves![](https://wolf.game/images/woolpaper/wolf.png), who gradually recharge to full strength with the Bathhouse. Retain all WOOL![](https://wolf.game/images/woolpaper/wool.png) fees collected.
  * Drained Bathhouses (Jugs): Bottle and sell Jugs to Sheep![](https://wolf.game/images/woolpaper/sheep.png) or Wolves![](https://wolf.game/images/woolpaper/wolf.png) who seek immediate Energy boosts. Retain only a portion of WOOL![](https://wolf.game/images/woolpaper/wool.png) fees collected, as Jugs are taxed by the remainder of the Community. The WOOL![](https://wolf.game/images/woolpaper/wool.png)tax is evenly distributed amongst all Community landowners. Jugs are automatically bottled for sale one day after the previously bottled Jug has been purchased; only one Jug is available at a time.
* Dens: where a single pair of Wolves![](https://wolf.game/images/woolpaper/wolf.png) breed. These can be built only on The Peak. Higher level Dens reduce breeding time![](https://wolf.game/images/woolpaper/table.png).

\
The game enforces and collects a minimum raw WOOL![](https://wolf.game/images/woolpaper/wool.png) Fee for the use of each type of Structure, and Landowners![](https://wolf.game/images/woolpaper/land.png) must also determine and set their own WOOL![](https://wolf.game/images/woolpaper/wool.png) Fees for use of their Structures. Any eligible player may use any open Structure.Energy & Movement

Every Sheep![](https://wolf.game/images/woolpaper/sheep.png) and Wolf![](https://wolf.game/images/woolpaper/wolf.png) must use Energy to take actions in the game.\
\
To move across Community lines costs Energy![](https://wolf.game/images/woolpaper/table.png) and WOOL![](https://wolf.game/images/woolpaper/wool.png). Movement within a Community is free.\
\
A Sheep![](https://wolf.game/images/woolpaper/sheep.png) or Wolf![](https://wolf.game/images/woolpaper/wolf.png)’s Maximum Energy represents their fully charged Energy level. Earlier Generations have higher Maximum Energy![](https://wolf.game/images/woolpaper/table.png).\
\
A Sheep![](https://wolf.game/images/woolpaper/sheep.png) or Wolf![](https://wolf.game/images/woolpaper/wolf.png)’s Current Energy represents their current Energy level. At the start of the game, and following a long journey to the Genesis Lands![](https://wolf.game/images/woolpaper/land.png), each Gen 0 and Gen 1 Sheep![](https://wolf.game/images/woolpaper/sheep.png) and Wolf![](https://wolf.game/images/woolpaper/wolf.png) have only 50% of their Maximum Energy.\
\
If a Sheep or Wolf runs out of Energy and would like to recharge, they must find an open Bathhouse and pay the WOOL![](https://wolf.game/images/woolpaper/wool.png) fee set by the owner. Unlike Cave Game, there is currently no automatic regeneration of Energy.

Breeding Sheep![](https://wolf.game/images/woolpaper/sheep.png) & Stealing Sheep![](https://wolf.game/images/woolpaper/sheep.png)

Gen 0 and Gen 1 Sheep![](https://wolf.game/images/woolpaper/sheep.png) can breed the next generation: Gen 2. Wolves![](https://wolf.game/images/woolpaper/wolf.png), meanwhile, can attempt to Steal the new generation of Sheep![](https://wolf.game/images/woolpaper/sheep.png). Gen 2 cannot breed at this time.\
\
To begin Breeding, two Gen 0 or Gen 1 Sheep![](https://wolf.game/images/woolpaper/sheep.png) must find an open Barn on The Farm and spend Energy, GRASS, and WOOL![](https://wolf.game/images/woolpaper/wool.png) to enter![](https://wolf.game/images/woolpaper/table.png). For clarity, a Gen 0 and Gen 1 Sheep![](https://wolf.game/images/woolpaper/sheep.png) can Breed with each other.\
\
Sheep![](https://wolf.game/images/woolpaper/sheep.png) Breeding has two phases:

* Courting: The first 50% of Breeding is the Courting phase, during which the two Sheep![](https://wolf.game/images/woolpaper/sheep.png) get acquainted with one another. If they leave the Barn during this phase, they will not breed a Gen 2 Sheep![](https://wolf.game/images/woolpaper/sheep.png). However, they will receive something: the Butcher has a standing offer of CHOPS to all Courting Sheep![](https://wolf.game/images/woolpaper/sheep.png), with the amount proportional to how long they have been Courting. The Butcher also provides CHOPS to Wolves![](https://wolf.game/images/woolpaper/wolf.png) who steal during Courting. While he knows that his offers may increase the CHOPS supply short-term, the shrewd Butcher makes these offers in an effort to keep CHOPS supply lower long-term.
* Nurturing: Exactly 50% of the way through Breeding, a Gen 2 Sheep![](https://wolf.game/images/woolpaper/sheep.png) is born. The remainder of the Breeding process is then the Nurturing phase, during which the two Sheep![](https://wolf.game/images/woolpaper/sheep.png) nurture their young to increase its Maximum Energy.

\
Farmers![](https://wolf.game/images/woolpaper/farmer.png) can be utilized in either phase of Breeding, and the owner of the Sheep![](https://wolf.game/images/woolpaper/sheep.png) may apply as many available Farmers![](https://wolf.game/images/woolpaper/farmer.png) as they choose during a single Breeding process. Farmers![](https://wolf.game/images/woolpaper/farmer.png) offer Breeding Sheep![](https://wolf.game/images/woolpaper/sheep.png)two capabilities![](https://wolf.game/images/woolpaper/table.png):

* Advancement: Instantly advance the Courting or Nurturing phase. During Courting, a Farmer![](https://wolf.game/images/woolpaper/farmer.png)can advance the Breeding process closer to the moment of birth. During Nurturing, a Farmer![](https://wolf.game/images/woolpaper/farmer.png) can immediately add to the Maximum Energy of a Gen 2 Sheep![](https://wolf.game/images/woolpaper/sheep.png).
* Protection: Secretly protect your Sheep![](https://wolf.game/images/woolpaper/sheep.png) and their offspring from Wolves![](https://wolf.game/images/woolpaper/wolf.png) for a period of time. If any Wolf![](https://wolf.game/images/woolpaper/wolf.png)breaks into a Barn currently protected by a Farmer![](https://wolf.game/images/woolpaper/farmer.png), the Farmer![](https://wolf.game/images/woolpaper/farmer.png) will successfully fend them off. As long as the Farmer is in the Barn, it will fend off Wolves, even if more than one attempts to Steal.

Following use, Farmers![](https://wolf.game/images/woolpaper/farmer.png) will need to Cool Down.\
\
While a pair of Sheep![](https://wolf.game/images/woolpaper/sheep.png) Breed in a closed Barn, a Wolf![](https://wolf.game/images/woolpaper/wolf.png) may decide to break in, in an attempt to either receive CHOPS from the Butcher (during Courting), or Steal their young (during Nurturing). Wolves![](https://wolf.game/images/woolpaper/wolf.png)will spend Energy to do so, and will need to Cool Down following a Steal attempt![](https://wolf.game/images/woolpaper/table.png). Steal attempts have a variety of outcomes, some of which are dependent on the Alpha Score of the attacker:

| Phase | Barn State | Result |

Breeding Wolves

To begin Breeding, two Gen 0 or Gen 1 Wolves![](https://wolf.game/images/woolpaper/wolf.png) must find an open Den on The Peak and spend Energy, CHOPS, and WOOL![](https://wolf.game/images/woolpaper/wool.png) to enter![](https://wolf.game/images/woolpaper/table.png). For clarity, a Gen 0 and Gen 1 Wolf![](https://wolf.game/images/woolpaper/wolf.png) can Breed with each other.\
\
Like Sheep![](https://wolf.game/images/woolpaper/sheep.png) Breeding, Wolf![](https://wolf.game/images/woolpaper/wolf.png) Breeding has two phases:

* Courting: The first 50% of Breeding is the Courting phase, during which the two Wolves![](https://wolf.game/images/woolpaper/wolf.png) get acquainted with one another. If they leave the Den during this phase, they will receive nothing.
* Nurturing: Exactly 50% of the way through Breeding, a Gen 2 Wolf![](https://wolf.game/images/woolpaper/wolf.png) is born. The remainder of the Breeding process is then the Nurturing phase, during which the two Wolves![](https://wolf.game/images/woolpaper/wolf.png) nurture their young to increase its Maximum Energy.

Gen 2 Traits

The Alpha Score of Gen 2 Wolves shall be the average Alpha Score of their parents, rounded down. Despite this, there will be no Alpha (A8) Gen 2 Wolves.\
\
Fur colors of Gen 2 Sheep and Wolves are entirely new and are randomly determined. Some furs are rarer than others.\
\
All other traits of Gen 2 Sheep![](https://wolf.game/images/woolpaper/sheep.png) and Wolves![](https://wolf.game/images/woolpaper/wolf.png) are determined as follows.\
\
Each trait is determined independently of the others. For each trait:

* There is a 33.3% chance that the trait will match the first parent.
* There is a 33.3% chance that the trait will match the second parent.
* There is a 33.3% chance that the trait will be random, with a probability distribution equivalent to that of the Gen 0 / Gen 1 smart contract.

Despite this, all Gen 2 Sheep![](https://wolf.game/images/woolpaper/sheep.png) and Wolves![](https://wolf.game/images/woolpaper/wolf.png) are guaranteed to be unique. Traits will be re-rolled if a duplicate would have been minted.Collecting & Looting Resources

On The Farm, Sheep![](https://wolf.game/images/woolpaper/sheep.png) can collect GRASS, STONE, WATER, and WOOD from any Land they choose. Wolves![](https://wolf.game/images/woolpaper/wolf.png) can loot their Collected Resources.\
\
To begin Collecting, Sheep![](https://wolf.game/images/woolpaper/sheep.png) must spend a one-time Energy cost. While Sheep![](https://wolf.game/images/woolpaper/sheep.png) Collect, they will continuously spend their Energy![](https://wolf.game/images/woolpaper/table.png).\
\
The rate at which a Sheep![](https://wolf.game/images/woolpaper/sheep.png) will collect a Resource is primarily determined by the following factors:

* Resource Base Rate: The rate of Resource production in the Community where the Sheep![](https://wolf.game/images/woolpaper/sheep.png) Collects.
* Other Sheep![](https://wolf.game/images/woolpaper/sheep.png): The more Sheep![](https://wolf.game/images/woolpaper/sheep.png) that Collect the same Resource in the same Community, the less of the Resource will be available to each individually.
* Time: The longer a Sheep![](https://wolf.game/images/woolpaper/sheep.png) Collects, the faster it will Collect![](https://wolf.game/images/woolpaper/table.png).

\
In addition to the rate of Collection, the amount of Resource that a Sheep![](https://wolf.game/images/woolpaper/sheep.png) will claim at the end of Collecting is determined by the following factors:

* Community Tax Rate: A certain amount of Collected Resources will be due to the Landowners![](https://wolf.game/images/woolpaper/land.png) in the Community.
* Weather: The Weather on the day that a Sheep![](https://wolf.game/images/woolpaper/sheep.png) chooses to end Collecting or is Looted by a Wolf![](https://wolf.game/images/woolpaper/wolf.png) results in a multiplier on the amount of Resources collected![](https://wolf.game/images/woolpaper/table.png).
* Looting: If the Sheep![](https://wolf.game/images/woolpaper/sheep.png) is Looted by a Wolf![](https://wolf.game/images/woolpaper/wolf.png), they will receive only a fraction of the Resources they Collected, dependent on the outcome of a micro game played with the Wolf![](https://wolf.game/images/woolpaper/wolf.png).

\
Collecting Sheep![](https://wolf.game/images/woolpaper/sheep.png) may also choose to make use of Farmers![](https://wolf.game/images/woolpaper/farmer.png), who provide three distinct capabilities within Collecting![](https://wolf.game/images/woolpaper/table.png):

* Boosting: Multiply the Collection rate for a period of time.
* Bumping: Instantly collect an additional amount of the Resource.
* Protecting: Publicly protect your Sheep![](https://wolf.game/images/woolpaper/sheep.png) from Wolves![](https://wolf.game/images/woolpaper/wolf.png) for a period of time.

While unlimited Farmers may be used during a single Collecting cycle, only one Farmer may be active at a time.\
\
If a Collecting Sheep![](https://wolf.game/images/woolpaper/sheep.png) is not protected by a Farmer![](https://wolf.game/images/woolpaper/farmer.png), a Wolf![](https://wolf.game/images/woolpaper/wolf.png) can Loot its Resources by spending Energy and burning WOOL![](https://wolf.game/images/woolpaper/wool.png), and afterward Cooling Down![](https://wolf.game/images/woolpaper/table.png). When a Wolf![](https://wolf.game/images/woolpaper/wolf.png) Loots a Sheep![](https://wolf.game/images/woolpaper/sheep.png), one of two Looting Games is played, as determined by the Weather![](https://wolf.game/images/woolpaper/table.png). Both games are played asynchronously, and the Sheep![](https://wolf.game/images/woolpaper/sheep.png) must plan its choices at the beginning of the Collecting process. Higher Alpha Wolves have a greater advantage over Sheep in Looting Games.Looting Games

* Sheep’s Dilemma Game: The Sheep![](https://wolf.game/images/woolpaper/sheep.png) and Wolf![](https://wolf.game/images/woolpaper/wolf.png) are each given a simple choice: choose to Share the Resources, or choose to be Greedy. Each Player’s winnings depend on their choice and the other Player’s choice![](https://wolf.game/images/woolpaper/table.png). Three rounds of the game are played. Note that any Wolves who do not complete a round of Sheep's Dilemma Game on time default to the choice of Share; any Wolves who do not complete a round of Wolf's Gambit Game on time default to the choice of 5.
* Wolf’s Gambit Game: The Sheep![](https://wolf.game/images/woolpaper/sheep.png) and Wolf![](https://wolf.game/images/woolpaper/wolf.png) each state a number between 1 and 9. Neither player knows the other Player’s stated number. Their two numbers are then added together.

  * If the sum is greater than 10 (a Bust): The Sheep![](https://wolf.game/images/woolpaper/sheep.png) receives 0% of the prize in the round. The Wolf![](https://wolf.game/images/woolpaper/wolf.png) receives a minority![](https://wolf.game/images/woolpaper/table.png). The remainder is burned.
  * If the sum is less than or equal to 10 (a Success): Each Player receives a percentage of what’s at stake in the round, equivalent to their contribution to the sum. For example, if a Sheep![](https://wolf.game/images/woolpaper/sheep.png) selects 2 and a Wolf![](https://wolf.game/images/woolpaper/wolf.png) selects 7, the Sheep![](https://wolf.game/images/woolpaper/sheep.png) gets 20%, the Wolf 🐺 gets 70%, and 10% is burned.

Three rounds of the game are played.

\
A history of each Sheep![](https://wolf.game/images/woolpaper/sheep.png) and Wolfs![](https://wolf.game/images/woolpaper/wolf.png) results in previously played Looting Games is available to all.Delegation

Through Delegation, Players can enable others to use their Sheep![](https://wolf.game/images/woolpaper/sheep.png) and Wolves![](https://wolf.game/images/woolpaper/wolf.png) without transferring ownership.\
\
To delegate a Sheep![](https://wolf.game/images/woolpaper/sheep.png) or Wolf![](https://wolf.game/images/woolpaper/wolf.png), simply add a new wallet address as a Delegate and select which Sheep![](https://wolf.game/images/woolpaper/sheep.png) or Wolves![](https://wolf.game/images/woolpaper/wolf.png) the wallet can play with. Owners can have multiple Delegates for the same Sheep![](https://wolf.game/images/woolpaper/sheep.png) or Wolf![](https://wolf.game/images/woolpaper/wolf.png); either the owner or any of their Delegates can play with it at any time.\
\
Delegates can take any action in the game, and the owner of the Sheep![](https://wolf.game/images/woolpaper/sheep.png) or Wolf![](https://wolf.game/images/woolpaper/wolf.png) will receive the benefit of those actions: Resources collected, Resources looted, or a stolen Sheep. Breeding is a special case, however: if a Player enters a Barn using one owned Sheep![](https://wolf.game/images/woolpaper/sheep.png) and one Sheep![](https://wolf.game/images/woolpaper/sheep.png) delegated to them, the wallet that owns the Sheep![](https://wolf.game/images/woolpaper/sheep.png) which is used to initiate the process will receive any CHOPS or offspring. The same applies to Dens.

Resource Exchange

Players can swap the five in-game Resources for one another by visiting the Shopkeeper at the Resource Exchange. The Resource Exchange is an automated market maker.\
\
Once the game is underway and the economy developing, we will actively evaluate the integration of WOOL![](https://wolf.game/images/woolpaper/wool.png) into the Resource Exchange.

The Farmers![](https://wolf.game/images/woolpaper/farmer.png) Market

A free market to list and rent Farmers![](https://wolf.game/images/woolpaper/farmer.png) for a single use, in exchange for WOOL![](https://wolf.game/images/woolpaper/wool.png).\
\
Farmers![](https://wolf.game/images/woolpaper/farmer.png) are delisted from the Farmers![](https://wolf.game/images/woolpaper/farmer.png) Market in the following situations:

* Upon being rented by another Player, in which case they are no longer available.
* Upon transfer to a different wallet, thereby avoiding situations where a new Farmer![](https://wolf.game/images/woolpaper/farmer.png) owner unintentionally rents out a Farmer![](https://wolf.game/images/woolpaper/farmer.png).
* Upon manual delisting by the owner.

The Butcher

Players can visit The Butcher to burn their Sheep![](https://wolf.game/images/woolpaper/sheep.png) in return for CHOPS. The amount of CHOPS received is equivalent to the Maximum Energy of the Sheep![](https://wolf.game/images/woolpaper/sheep.png). Any Generation of Sheep can be burned.

WOOL Deposit & Withdrawal

Players can deposit their on-chain WOOL![](https://wolf.game/images/woolpaper/wool.png) into their in-game wallet at any time. Upon doing so, their WOOL![](https://wolf.game/images/woolpaper/wool.png) is burned on the blockchain and can be re-minted at any time by withdrawing it from the game.\
\
Players can withdraw in-game WOOL![](https://wolf.game/images/woolpaper/wool.png) to the blockchain, with a maximum of one transaction per 72 hours for safety and security. Withdrawing WOOL![](https://wolf.game/images/woolpaper/wool.png) from the game mints it on the blockchain.\
\
Players who won WOOL![](https://wolf.game/images/woolpaper/wool.png) in WOOL![](https://wolf.game/images/woolpaper/wool.png) Event #4 and players who are due to receive 5,000 WOOL![](https://wolf.game/images/woolpaper/wool.png) from purchasing a piece of Land![](https://wolf.game/images/woolpaper/land.png) in November 2021 will find their raw rewards in their in-game wallet.

Wool Cycle

All WOOL spent in the game and not directly due to Structure owners is either Burned, or added to Community Rewards![](https://wolf.game/images/woolpaper/table.png).\
\
Through the former, The Shepherd enjoys himself. Through the latter, Players can compete to win WOOL previously spent in the game.\
\
Many games of the past have suffered from excessive inflation that has outpaced the growth of the Player base and economy. The cycle outlined here provides another means to build a healthy economy.

The Peak Gameplay

A massively multiplayer competition for WOOL![](https://wolf.game/images/woolpaper/wool.png) from Community Rewards will intermittently take place on The Peak. More details will be released in advance of the first game.\
\
WOOL and a Sheep or Wolf will be required to participate.

# Peak Paper

Victory comes at the expense of those defeated. Opt into games on The Peak if you are willing to risk your WOOL![](https://wolf.game/images/woolpaper/wool.png) to win WOOL![](https://wolf.game/images/woolpaper/wool.png), and are prepared to hold your head high should you be trounced by a fellow Player.\
\
The Peak is the arena where Sheep![](https://wolf.game/images/woolpaper/sheep.png) and Wolves![](https://wolf.game/images/woolpaper/wolf.png) compete in all-or-nothing PvP games for WOOL![](https://wolf.game/images/woolpaper/wool.png) prizes.\
\
Built to tap into the competitive nature of crypto natives and gamers, The Peak ups the stakes that Wolf Game has been known for since its launch in November 2021. Prize pools may be sourced from game Entry Fees, Farm recirculation, Community Rewards, and/or The Shepherd's Pouch.Schedule & Game EntryThe Peak is a grand arena in which all Players compete simultaneously in the same games at specific scheduled times, as determined by The Shepherd. Upcoming game times will be published on Twitter and Discord. The game schedule is designed with the global nature of the Wolf Game community in mind, and many games will be played.\
\
10 minutes prior to the opening of the arena, the opt-in period for the upcoming game begins. Players who opt-in to a game will be matched at random to an opponent at the end of the opt-in period; if an odd number of Players opt-in, the final entrant will be left out of play. Players have a limited time to make a choice on each turn of play; those who opt-in to a game but do not complete their first move or or any subsequent move in time will forfeit.\
\
![](https://wolf.game/images/peak-peek/2.gif)To opt-in to a game on The Peak, two ingredients are required.

* Peak Credits. Energy from Sheep![](https://wolf.game/images/woolpaper/sheep.png) and Wolves![](https://wolf.game/images/woolpaper/wolf.png) roaming The Peak can be converted to Peak Credits as the Player desires. The Wolves![](https://wolf.game/images/woolpaper/wolf.png) rule The Peak, and Wolf![](https://wolf.game/images/woolpaper/wolf.png) Energy converts more effectively to Peak Credits than Sheep![](https://wolf.game/images/woolpaper/sheep.png) Energy![](https://wolf.game/images/woolpaper/table.png). Like other In-game Resources, Peak Credits are transferable to other wallets. Note that Players cannot convert Energy to Peak Credits for Wolves and Sheep that are delegated to them.
* WOOL![](https://wolf.game/images/woolpaper/wool.png). Each game has an Entry Fee in WOOL![](https://wolf.game/images/woolpaper/wool.png), which increases as Players move up The Peak from The Base to The Slope to The Summit![](https://wolf.game/images/woolpaper/table.png). 2.5% of Entry Fees will be burned![](https://wolf.game/images/woolpaper/burn.png) and 2.5% will be added to the Prize Pool.

The GamesOn the Farm, you have experienced games of sharing; yet on The Peak, only one Player out of two can be a winner. These games are all or nothing.\
\
The Peak will launch with three games, with the platform enabling more to be added in forthcoming seasons.\
\
In-game Resources will also prove useful in the games, for the purchase of power-ups starting in the second half of 2023.Tug of WOOL: Game Guide![](https://wolf.game/images/peakpaper/tug_of_wool.gif)A spirited duel in which two Players marshal equally sized Sheep![](https://wolf.game/images/woolpaper/sheep.png) battalions.\
\
On each turn, Players secretly select a number of Sheep![](https://wolf.game/images/woolpaper/sheep.png) to send to battle. Upon simultaneous reveal, the Player who has deployed the larger flock seizes victory in the round.\
\
Should a Player deplete their flock, their choice on subsequent turns defaults to zero.\
\
\
![](https://wolf.game/images/peakpaper/crown.png): The first Player to lead by 3 victories seizes the match. Alternatively, if both Players have run out of Sheep and the score is not tied, the Player in the lead is crowned the winner.\
![](https://wolf.game/images/peakpaper/restart.png): If both Players have run out of Sheep![](https://wolf.game/images/woolpaper/sheep.png) prior to either leading by 3 victories and the game is currently tied, a rematch commences.\
\
\
Water Wall: Game GuideOn an eleven-by-eleven terrain, each of two Players strive to be first to build a stream connecting opposing sides; one Player will aim to build vertically, and the other horizontally.\
\
Players alternate placing tiles, forging their path and obstructing their opponent. Assignment of the 1st turn is random, but the 2nd Player may opt to switch places, balancing potential initial advantage.\
\
![](https://wolf.game/images/peakpaper/crown.png): The first to build a stream linking their designated sides wins.\
\
\
![](https://wolf.game/images/peakpaper/water_wall.gif)Wolf Wits: Game Guide![](https://wolf.game/images/peakpaper/wolf_wits.gif)A card game in which two Players direct identical squads of a total of 8 Sheep![](https://wolf.game/images/woolpaper/sheep.png) and Wolves![](https://wolf.game/images/woolpaper/wolf.png) with unique powers.\
\
On each turn, Players select a card and place it onto the game board face down. Upon simultaneous reveal, the higher power card prevails, save for instances where Special Abilities twist the outcome.\
\
In the case of a tie on a turn, the round is put on hold; the subsequent round determines its fate and the winner of its point(s). Multiple rounds in a row may go on hold.\
\
![](https://wolf.game/images/peakpaper/crown.png): The first to gain 4 points seizes the match.\
![](https://wolf.game/images/peakpaper/restart.png): If both Players run out of cards prior to either reaching 4 points, a rematch commences.\

# Cave Game Whitepaper

View the Original: https\://wolf.game/whitepapers

The 14 Packs arrive at their 14 respective Caves. Each Alpha takes a moment to strategize on the optimal way to explore their Cave as a Pack.\
\
They realize the Wolves can scout out the best areas of each Cave while the Sheep follow behind, carrying the resources found. With this plan, the Alpha can stay back and reap the rewards of their Pack’s efforts before continuing on their journey.\
\
Yet before they can share their strategy, the rest of the Wolves and Sheep head off into the Caves’ depths individually, lured by the bounties within.\
\
Cave Game is an interactive real-time minigame. Sheep and Wolves navigate, strategize, and hunt for a finite supply of resources including Gems, WOOL, Merch, and more.

#### The tl;dr:

* All staked Sheep and Wolves are eligible to play Cave Game.
* Each Pack will compete amongst themselves in their own unique Cave, sized proportionally to the Pack.
* Uncover a fixed supply of Gems, WOOL, Merch, & more.

#### The 14 Caves

Each Pack will hunt in its own Cave. The size of each Pack's Cave and the bounties within are proportional to the size of the Pack. Within each Cave, the Wolves and Sheep are competing for the same resources. Whoever finds each bounty first is the one to receive it.\
\
Once a Sheep or Wolf has entered a Cave, it cannot switch Caves. Switching Packs in Alpha Game is still enabled, but doing so will not change the Cave.

#### Gameplay

To enter the Cave, you must have chosen a Pack leader and be staked in a Pack. The 14 Alphas and the current Alpha Game standings can be found here: <https://wolf.game/alpha-game><br>

**Entry & Lobbies**

All Players will begin their hunt in the Lobby at the center of their Cave. In addition to the Lobby at the center of each Cave where every NFT begins, there are other smaller Lobbies to be found throughout.\
\
Lobbies have two distinct features:

* You may navigate these areas (denoted by a lighter-color floor) without using Energy.
* The Shopkeepers can only be found in the Lobbies.

Arrow keys or the white arrows on the screen can be used to navigate. Exit the Lobby in any direction.

**Energy**

Sheep and Wolves have a finite amount of energy to utilize every 24 hours. Each step taken in the Cave (excluding Lobbies) uses one Energy. There is no requirement to utilize your steps at any point of the game, though Sheep and Wolves reach their maximum Energy 24 hours after depletion.

| NFT | Maximum Energy | Replenish Rate |
| --------------- | -------------- | ----------------------- |
| Sheep | 100 | 1 energy / 14.4 minutes |
| Omega Wolf (A5) | 125 | 1 energy / 11.5 minutes |
| Delta Wolf (A6) | 150 | 1 energy / 9.6 minutes |
| Beta Wolf (A7) | 175 | 1 energy / 8.3 minutes |
| Alpha Wolf (A8) | 200 | 1 energy / 7.2 minutes |

\
Sheep and Wolves can also destroy walls to create shortcuts to new parts of the Cave. Destroying walls also takes Energy; Sheep have an additional penalty when they headbutt a wall to break it.

| NFT | Cost to Break Wall | Penalty |
| --------------------- | ------------------ | ---------------------- |
| Sheep | 20 | Stunned for 30 minutes |
| Wolf (A5, A6, A7, A8) | 20 | None |

**Power-ups**

The Cave holds a variety of Power-ups which may be discovered on the hunt, or purchased from the Shopkeepers for WOOL. The Shopkeepers burn all WOOL that they receive, and they may choose to update prices from time to time.\
\
However, NFTs cannot hold infinite Power-ups. They have a limited inventory size. Sheep may hold up to 2 Power-ups in their inventory at a time, and Wolves may hold up to 3.<br>

| Item | Description | Cost at Shop |
| ------------- | ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- | --------------------- |
| Carrot | Carrots replenish 50 energy immediately, up to your NFT's energy limit. One time use. | Not available at Shop |
| Glass of Milk | Milk replenishes 75 energy immediately, up to your NFT's energy limit. One time use. | Not available at Shop |
| Sandwich | Sandwiches replenish 125 energy immediately, up to your NFT's energy limit. One time use | Not available at Shop |
| Headlamp | Headlamps give you visibility for 2 squares in every direction, but are blocked by walls. Lasts for 24 hours. | 180 WOOL |
| Heat Goggles | Heat Goggles show you how many other players have traveled over a certain square. Lasts for 24 hours. | 170 WOOL |
| Dynamite | Dynamite breaks all walls in a 3x3 radius around you. One time use. | 160 WOOL |
| Bomb | Bombs break all walls in a 5x5 radius around you. One time use. | 300 WOOL |
| Detector | Detectors give you visibility for 1 square in every direction, even through walls. Lasts for 24 hours. | 190 WOOL |
| Pickaxe | Pickaxes allow you to break a wall without spending any energy or becoming stunned. Usable when breaking wall. One time use. | 200 WOOL |

**Other players**

All Players in a given Pack will navigate the same Cave. A finite number of Power-ups and bounties exist in each Cave.\
\
Once a Player leaves a Lobby, they will be pitched into darkness. The player will not be able to see other players’ movements around them nor squares near them. But when another Player claims an item found in the cave or breaks a wall, that is reflected across all other Players’ gameplay.\
\
Claiming Bounties

Any Gems, Merch, or other NFTs discovered in the Cave may be immediately claimed on the blockchain. Gems and Merch are both ERC-1155 NFTs.\
\
WOOL found can be claimed in a Pouch at the end of Cave Game.

# Alpha Game Whitepaper

On the journey to Lands of high stakes and rewards, Wolves and Sheep flock behind their chosen Alpha leaders.

By nature, the Alphas are far from complacent. With the power of the Wolves and Sheep traveling with them and the WOOL they have accrued, the Alphas each set out to Attack opposing Packs, while Fortifying their own. The better their planning, strategy, and execution, the more WOOL they and their Pack will win along the way. Ultimately, one Pack will stand out among the rest.

**The tl;dr:**

* \- 500,000,000 WOOL is at stake in Alpha Game.
* \- Alpha Wolves will lead Packs of Wolves and Sheep to win a WOOL prize and share in the spoils.
* \- Sheep and Wolves choose which Pack to join. Packs with more Sheep and Wolves staked in them earn more Points in the game.
* \- By staking WOOL, Packs earn Actions that they can use to Attack & Fortify. The more WOOL staked in a Pack, the faster the Pack earns Actions.

<figure><img src="https://wolf.game/images/alpha%20game/packs.gif" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

#### Packs

**During Alpha Game:**

1. 1\. An Alpha Wolf can opt to stake & lead a Pack until a deadline to be announced by The Shepherd. *Abandoning its Pack is not an option for an Alpha. Alphas cannot unstake until the end of Alpha Game.*
2. 2\. All non-Alpha Wolves and all Sheep can opt to stake & join a specific Alpha’s Pack at any time during the game.

The goal of the game is for each Pack to accumulate as many Points as possible. Packs will be awarded WOOL based on their Points count and several special events.

#### The Prize

<figure><img src="https://wolf.game/images/alpha%20game/prize.gif" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

The Shepherd has made 500,000,000 WOOL available for Alpha Game.

There are 14 WOOL prizes available: one for each Alpha Wolf’s Pack.

| Place | Percent of Winnings Pool |
| ----- | ------------------------ |
| 1st | 20% |
| 2nd | 15.75% |
| 3rd | 12% |
| 4th | 9.75% |
| 5th | 7.75% |
| 6th | 6.25% |
| 7th | 5.25% |
| 8th | 4.5% |
| 9th | 3.75% |
| 10th | 3.5% |
| 11th | 3.25% |
| 12th | 3% |
| 13th | 2.75% |
| 14th | 2.5% |

Should less than 14 Alpha Wolves compete in Alpha Game, The Shepherd will burn the WOOL prizes that remain. For example, if only 11 Alpha Wolves compete, the 12th, 13th, and 14th place prizes (8.25% in total) will be burned.

The Alpha in each Pack will receive 5% of their Pack’s winnings in exchange for their efforts to build and protect their Pack.

The remaining 95% of a Pack’s WOOL winnings will be claimable by individual wallet addresses proportional to the contributions they made to the Pack that they are part of when the game ends.

**Claim Amounts**

The contribution a player makes to their Pack is weighted 50% by the number of Points they earned through staking Sheep or Wolves, and 50% by the amount & duration of WOOL that they staked. For example: if a player contributed 2% of their Pack’s Points and 3% of their Pack’s WOOL, they would earn 2.5% of their Pack’s WOOL Prize.

WARNING: When a player unstakes a Sheep or Wolf or switches it to another Pack, the NFT's Points are reset to 0 and all WOOL winnings attributable to it from its old Pack are forfeited. Similarly, when a player unstakes WOOL or switches it to another Pack, WOOL winnings attributable to that WOOL from the old Pack are forfeited.

*Players will claim their winnings as WOOL Pouches. Players may claim an individual WOOL Pouch per NFT staked, or aggregate winnings from multiple NFTs into a single WOOL Pouch. All WOOL Pouches will release 100% of their WOOL over 4 years with no amount initially available (unlike Risky Game which included 10,000 WOOL).*

Staking and Points

<figure><img src="https://wolf.game/images/alpha%20game/points.gif" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

Alphas have one way to gather Points for their Pack: encourage other Wolves and Sheep to stake into their Pack. A Wolf or Sheep can be part of only one Pack at a time. *However, they may choose to switch Packs at anytime, with a cost.*

Each Sheep or Wolf staked in a Pack contributes a certain number of Points daily to its Pack.

| Token Type | Points Earned Daily |
| --------------- | ------------------------------------------------ |
| Sheep | 50 |
| Omega Wolf (A5) | 250 |
| Delta Wolf (A6) | 360 |
| Beta Wolf (A7) | 490 |
| Alpha Wolf (A8) | 0. Alphas do not contribute points to their Pack |

For example: a Pack with 1,000 Sheep and 100 Omega Wolves would earn 1,000 x 50 + 100 x 250 = 75,000 Points daily.

*If you switch a Sheep or a Wolf into another Pack during the game, or unstake at any time, the Points you earned for your former Pack will remain with them and contribute to their total Points count. However, you will sacrifice and reset your own Sheep or Wolf’s Points to 0. Any WOOL you would have won by remaining with your former team will be burned at the end of the game.*

#### Actions: Attack and Fortify

<figure><img src="https://wolf.game/images/alpha%20game/actions.gif" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

By staking WOOL, Packs earn Actions. Alphas, the leaders of each Pack, are uniquely able to utilize these Actions to Fortify their Pack or Attack other Packs:

When a Pack earns an Action, the Pack’s Alpha must utilize its Action before the Pack will continue to earn more Actions. *A Pack cannot hoard Actions, as it can hold only one unused Action at a time.*

**There are two uses for each Action earned:**

1. 1\. Attack another Pack of their choice to reduce that Pack’s overall Points count by 3% unless they have Fortifications.
2. 2\. Fortify to protect against Attacks. Fortification is proactive. By Fortifying, you increment your Fortifications.

**Action Calculations**

If a pack has 0 Fortifications, then Attacks against it will reduce the Pack’s Points by 3%. There is no limit to the number of Fortifications a Pack may accumulate.

Example A: Your Pack has 1,000,000 Points and 0 Fortifications. When another Pack Attacks you, your Pack’s Points will decrease to 970,000.

Example B: Your Pack has 1,000,000 Points and 2 Fortifications. Another Pack Attacks you: your Pack’s Points are still 1,000,000, but now you only have 1 Fortification remaining.

**Earning Actions**

Actions are earned when Packs stake WOOL. When a Pack earns an Action, the Pack’s Alpha must perform an Action before the Pack will continue to earn more Actions. A Pack cannot hoard Actions, as it can hold only one unused Action at a time.

The more WOOL a Pack stakes, the faster it will earn an Action. To level the playing field, larger Packs require more WOOL to earn an Action than smaller Packs.

*Days to Earn an Action = (Pack’s Daily Points Rate \* 250) / WOOL Staked in Pack*

*Note: In the above equation, all packs are treated as if they have a minimum Daily Points Rate of 12,500 Points.*

**Examples**

| | Staking Sheep & Wolves | Pack's Daily Points Rate | WOOL Required to get an Action Every Day | WOOL Required to get an Action Every Other Day |
| -------------- | ------------------------- | ------------------------ | ---------------------------------------- | ---------------------------------------------- |
| Example Pack 1 | 1000 Sheep, 100 A5 Wolves | 75,000 | 18,750,000 | 9,375,000 |
| Example Pack 2 | 1000 Sheep, 200 A5 Wolves | 100,000 | 25,000,000 | 12,500,000 |
| Example Pack 3 | 1000 Sheep, 600 A5 Wolves | 200,000 | 50,000,000 | 25,000,000 |

*Note: Packs can earn Actions in a fractional number of Days. These are illustrative examples.*

#### End Game

<figure><img src="https://wolf.game/images/alpha%20game/endgame.gif" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

The game will be played through the duration of the full Wolf Game development period, and end when The Shepherd decides. So that each Pack can plan accordingly, The Shepherd will notify all Packs of both special events and the completion of the game ahead of time.

# Whitepaper V2

\* NOTE: The Migration and Risky Game occurred in November and December 2021. If you were eligible to take part, but have not claimed your migrated tokens or Risky Game winnings, you can still do migrate [here](https://wolf.game/migrate) and play Risky Game [here](https://wolf.game/risky-game).

Wolf Game is evolving. Welcome to Whitepaper v2, which outlines recent updates. The Shepherd thanks you for your commitment to the game.

#### Migration

![](https://wolf.game/images/migration.gif)

Following an Ethereum smart contract vulnerability, we will migrate to a new smart contract to keep the game safe and maintain its integrity.

The migration will create for you an exact copy of your legacy NFT, with the same traits and metadata. It will also lock your legacy NFT containing the vulnerability. All developers we spoke with agreed that it is the safest option to retrieve your NFTs.

Holders of Sheep and Wolves will be able to migrate their NFTs through the Wolf Game website by connecting their MetaMask wallet.

Target Date for the Migration: Saturday, November 27 2021

On the website, you will simply claim your NFT from the new, official collection. If your legacy NFT is currently staked: it will burn with the barn. If it is in your wallet: it will burn when you claim.

When the migration begins, the core part of Phase 1 (shearing, staking, and unstaking) will come to a close. The Shepherd is turning his eyes to building the future of the game.

Days after the migration, you will be able to claim your WOOL, which will be inside of a WOOL Pouch (see below). Claiming your WOOL pouch NFT is tied to ownership of a Sheep or Wolf. You must hold the Sheep or Wolf to claim its WOOL Pouch.

![](https://wolf.game/images/shearing.gif)

#### Gen 0 and Gen 1 Sheep & Wolves

![](https://wolf.game/images/claiming-pack.gif)

Wolf Game originally called for 10,000 Gen 0 Sheep & Wolves minted with ETH, and 40,000 Gen 1 Sheep & Wolves minted with WOOL.

Because of the vulnerability, The Shepherd paused minting and decided that there would only ever be 10,000 Gen 0 and 3,809 Gen 1. The supply of Gen 0 and Gen 1 Sheep & Wolves is locked forever, and they are 4x rarer than expected.

Gen 0 and Gen 1 Sheep & Wolves will be a core part of the full-feature game coming in 2022, with unique capabilities and tokenomics. This may relate to (and may go beyond):

* \- breeding
* \- resource accumulation
* \- stealing other players’ resources

![](https://wolf.game/images/wool-pouch.gif)

#### WOOL Pouches

![](https://wolf.game/images/wool-pouch.gif)

The Shepherd had intended to bring 40,000 Gen 1 Sheep & Wolves onto the farm, which would have required burning 1.8 billion WOOL. With only 3,809 minted, this left a large oversupply of an extra 1.7 billion WOOL that would have been immediately available.

He chose to leverage sensible tokenomics to maintain the game's integrity, protect all Sheep & Wolves, and keep WOOL safe.

WOOL Pouches are his invention to solve this: they are ERC-20 tokens that are stored within tradable NFTs.

All Gen 0 and Gen 1 Sheep & Wolves, whether staked or unstaked, are eligible to receive a WOOL Pouch.

**Here is how they work:**

1. 1\. Every WOOL Pouch starts with a finite WOOL supply.
2. 2\. The first 10,000 WOOL are immediately accessible to the minter. This gives everyone a chance to burn 10,000 WOOL in exchange for a Farmer.
3. 3\. The remaining WOOL in the Pouch unlocks at a constant rate over 4 years.
4. 4\. During the 4 year period, you may claim any WOOL that has been unlocked, or trade your Pouch including the WOOL inside at anytime.

Every WOOL Pouch starts with a finite WOOL supply. Read “Risky Game” below to find out how much yours will include.

![](https://wolf.game/images/risky-game.gif)

#### Risky Game

![](https://wolf.game/images/risky-game.gif)

As a Sheep aiming to leave the Barn, you are confronted by the Wolfpack. They present you with two options in a game they play for fun and WOOL, called Risky Game.

Your choices and luck in Risky Game will determine how much WOOL your WOOL Pouch will include inside.

The choice you must make is simple: No Risk or Yes Risk.

**No Risk**

The rest of the flock may mock you, but you know exactly how much WOOL you will receive.

The amount in your WOOL Pouch will be guaranteed.

* If you were staked at the time the contract was paused, it is the amount you it is the amount you accumulated in the Barn up until the migration began.
* If you were unstaked, it is 10,000 WOOL per day from the time the contract was paused up until the migration opened.

Nothing in life is free, and this guarantee comes with a price. In this option, Wolves will receive a 20% tax.

**Yes Risk**

You may walk away empty-handed, but you leave with your pride.

In this option, you have a 50% chance of walking away with a WOOL Pouch, and a 50% chance of the Wolves taking it all: this WOOL Pouch is guaranteed to be larger than the WOOL Pouch you would receive in the No Risk option.

Here is how to calculate the amount in each WOOL Pouch received by winning Sheep:

The total amount of WOOL allocated to the Yes Risk option is the amount leftover of the 2.4 billion WOOL originally allocated to the staking faucet and not used in the No Risk option. More specifically, it is: 2.4 billion, minus the 230 million claimed previously, minus the amount in Pouches obtained by Sheep & Wolves in the No Risk option.

The amount in each WOOL Pouch of the Yes Risk option, if you are a winning Sheep, will be: the total WOOL in the Yes Risk option divided evenly by the total number of Sheep taking part in Yes Risk.

In the Yes Risky option, Wolves will receive all WOOL that is not won by Sheep.

**Outcome Table**

| Player | Staked before Pause | Not Staked before Pause |
| --------------- | --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- | ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
| Not Risky Sheep | All your $WOOL earnings before the pause + all $WOOL earnings after the pause - 20% tax | All your possible $WOOL earnings if you had staked since the pause began - 20% tax |
| Risky Sheep | 50/50 chance of winning your proportional share of all the remaining 2.4 billion $WOOL | |
| Wolves | Your share (based on alpha score) of 20% taxes from Not Risky and lost $WOOL from Risky Sheep | |

#### Shepherd Lockup Period

![](https://wolf.game/images/shepherd-background.gif)

The Shepherd has committed to having his 600M WOOL unlock over 4 years. His WOOL Pouch will work exactly the same way as others’ Pouches.

He is your long-term guide to the game.

#### Land

![](https://wolf.game/images/land.gif)

The most productive, fertile lands in all of Wolf Game are the Genesis parcels. The Shepherd has cultivated these lands for centuries.

A finite resource, only 20,000 Genesis land parcels will ever exist in Wolf Game. Each is uniquely abundant and randomly assigned, with varying acreage, resources, and capabilities.

Land metadata will be randomized and released before the full game release in 2022.

#### Farmers

![](https://wolf.game/images/farmer.gif)

Farmers assist you in managing your land more efficiently. You will be able to harvest more resources and get further faster with the help of farmers. Every farmer has a unique set of skills which match some plots of land better than others.

Farmers are not required to own and operate your land, but they are beneficial for optimal gameplay.

Farmer metadata will be randomized and released before the full game release in 2022.

# Whitepaper V1

\* NOTE: v1 gameplay ended in November of 2021. This whitepaper is for historical purposes only.

On a quaint farm in the metaverse, a flock of Sheep congregate and produce a healthy supply of $WOOL. They huddle together in a Barn and are sheared regularly by their owners to farm the $WOOL. With more $WOOL, the farmers can purchase more Sheep! But outside lurk dangers the Sheep are terrified of… The Wolves.

The Wolves are on the hunt for Sheep and their precious $WOOL. They’ll take it by any means necessary. They’ll kidnap Sheep or catch them unaware and steal all of their $WOOL. So the farmers struck a deal with the Wolves: they pay the Wolves a tax on all $WOOL production. In return, the Wolves don’t attack Sheep who are safe in the Barn.

But when a Sheep leaves the farm or new Sheep are born… The Wolves don’t hold back.

\---------------

Wolf Game is a risk protocol for NFTs with novel tokenomics. It shows what’s possible with interactions between the ERC-20 and ERC-721 protocols. For the very first time, your NFT can steal other NFTs (ERC-721 tokens) for you. The rarer your NFT, the more tokens you'll accumulate probabilistically. Wolf Game is pioneering new types of NFT mechanics. Fully decentralized. No roadmaps or empty promises. Just a game in the metaverse that’s ready to play at launch.

**The tl;dr:**

 - There will only ever be 10,000 Gen 0, minted for 0.069420 ETH each. The 40,000 Gen 1 are minted by farming $WOOL\
 - Sheep can be staked in the Barn to earn $WOOL and pay a tax anytime they claim their $WOOL earnings\
 - If a Sheep is unstaked from the Barn, the Wolves try to steal all of its accumulated $WOOL\
 - When a new Sheep is born, the Wolves attempt to kidnap it. If they’re successful, it’s given to a randomly selected Wolf, instead of the owner who minted it

| Enter Barn (Stake) | Accumulate 10,000 $WOOL / day (prorated to the second) | No risk. |
| Shear $WOOL (Claim) | Receive 80% of $WOOL accumulated on your Sheep | Wolves take a guaranteed 20% tax on sheared $WOOL in return for not attacking the Barn. Taxed $WOOL is split among all the Wolves currently staked in the Barn, proportional to their Alpha scores. |
| Leave Barn (Unstake) | Sheep is removed from the Barn and all $WOOL is shorn. Can only be done if the Sheep has accumulated 2 days worth of $WOOL to keep it warm. | 50% chance of ALL of your accumulated $WOOL being stolen by Wolves. Stolen $WOOL is split among all the Wolves currently staked in the Barn, proportional to their Alpha scores. |

#### $WOOL

![](https://wolf.game/images/claiming-pack.gif)

The maximum $WOOL supply is 5,000,000,000 $WOOL:

* When supply reaches 2,400,000,000 $WOOL earned for staking, the staking “faucet” turns off.
* The developers will receive 600,000,000 $WOOL
* Community Rewards will be allocated 2,000,000,000 $WOOL

| Action | Notes | Risk |
| ---------------------------- | ------------------------------------------------------ | --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
| Mint a new Sheep using $WOOL | There is a 10% chance that the NFT is actually a Wolf! | 10% chance of the new Sheep or Wolf being stolen by a staked Wolf. Each Wolf’s chance of success is proportional to their Alpha scores. |

![](https://wolf.game/images/staking-pack.gif)

#### Wolves

![](https://wolf.game/images/unstaked-pack.gif)

You have a 10% chance of minting a Wolf, each with unique traits, including an Alpha value ranging from 5 to 8. The higher the Alpha value:\
 - The higher the portion of $WOOL that the Wolf earns from taxes\
 - The higher chance of stealing a newly minted Sheep or Wolf

**Example:**

Wolf A has an Alpha of 8 and Wolf B has an Alpha of 6, and they are staked.\
 - If 70,000 $WOOL total have been accumulated as taxes, Wolf A will be able to claim 40,000 $WOOL and Wolf B will be able to claim 30,000 $WOOL\
 - If a newly minted Sheep or Wolf is stolen, Wolf A has a 57% chance of receiving it and Wolf B has a 43% chance of receiving it<br>

Only staked Wolves are able to steal a sheep or earn the $WOOL tax.

| Action | Notes | Risk |
| ------------ | -------------------------------------------------------------------------- | -------- |
| Stake Wolf | Earn your share of the 20% tax of all $WOOL generated by Sheep in the Barn | No risk. |
| Claim $WOOL | Receive all $WOOL taxes accrued for the staked Wolf | No risk. |
| Unstake Wolf | Receive all $WOOL taxes accrued for the staked Wolf | No risk. |

#### Why this tech is novel

![](https://wolf.game/images/sheared.gif)

Protocol-level risk is ripe for exploration in NFTs. Many projects are implementing stake-to-earn, but haven’t cracked the code on users making choices in the face of risk.

In the case of Wolf Game’s Wolf-eat-Sheep world, your NFT can steal ERC-20 and ERC-721 tokens for you. This is entirely new.

Everything in Wolf Game happens on-chain: the decisioning, the results, the generation of the NFTs themselves. It’s split between 4 different smart contracts so that anyone can read through and get a sense of how it all talks to each other.

There are a number of techniques in these contracts that make this all possible while maintaining accuracy, keeping gas costs down, and not exceeding the EVM contract size limit.

**Data Packing:**

Storage is expensive on the blockchain! One 256 bit integer costs 20,000 gas to save, which at today’s costs is about $7.50… for one number! Efficiently packing data types by designing around smaller max values can save users hundreds of thousands of dollars over the lifetime of the project

**Constant Time Algorithms & DeFi Math:**

A lot of contracts use architectures that require significant looping to accomplish tasks. Those make contracts inefficient and add to gas costs. It’s imperative to remove things like the need to search through arrays or loop through stakes. This means you can do things like unlimited simultaneous stakes while keeping things cheaper.

As an example, the minting contract uses AJ Walker’s Alias Method to efficiently select traits in constant time.

Another example: tracking Wolf $WOOL earnings (taxes) proved to be very complex, requiring math used by DeFi liquidity pool protocols.

**100% On-chain:**

Not the first, and certainly not the last. But as long as Ethereum is running, your Sheep and Wolves will survive. Always available and always yours. Your traits and all the pixel art reside in the contracts themselves, nowhere else.

**UI at launch:**

You can use the entirety of Wolf Game by directly interacting with the blockchain (like through Etherscan). But Wolf Game is launching with a custom UI to make it easy for people to enjoy the game on day 1.

#### In conclusion...

![](https://wolf.game/images/mint-stolen.gif)

With Wolf Game, everyone can play with their own level of risk… Pay the tax? Stay liquid on the market? Take a chance to keep all your $WOOL, but have a chance to lose it all? The choices and this game have to be engaging.

Wolves preying on Sheep feels almost like a parallel to the NFT community itself: A select few with alpha among all of us, and many others following the pack.

# Gems Whitepaper

As the Sheep and Wolves journey to Lands of high stakes and high rewards, they catch sight of a shining, tempting Cave in the distance.\
\
Curious and seeking opportunities to strengthen their Packs, the 14 Alphas are each determined to find a path to the Cave. After traveling over hills, through valleys, and along the edges of canyons, they finally arrive.\
\
Each Sheep and Wolf in the Packs have an opportunity to enter the Cave and compete for Gems.

#### The tl;dr:

<figure><img src="https://wolf.game/images/gems/daddy.gif" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

* Burning a Gem guarantees that a player’s Farmer will be rare upon reveal.
* Gems are ERC-1155 NFTs. A maximum of 5,000 Gems will ever exist.
* Gems come in 6 different Farmer Types. The 7th and most common Farmer Type is not represented as a Gem.
* Burning a Gem with an unrevealed Farmer before a certain date (the Submission Deadline) guarantees a player the Type of Farmer displayed on the Gem. Other than Type, the Farmer’s remaining traits are randomized and range from common to extremely rare.

#### Why Gems?

#### Traditionally, NFT reveals leave everything to chance:

1. Users mint an unrevealed NFT
2. The project creators click a magic button to reveal the NFT and its metadata

\
Wolf Game is a competition. Players must compete for many aspects of the game, including the rarity and desirability of their Farmers.

#### Utilizing Gems

\
Gems are a guarantee to receive one of the rare Types of Farmer.\
\
There will be a Submission Deadline to utilize Gems. Should a Player find or acquire a Gem, here is how they may utilize it:

* 1\. The player visits the Farmer Factory, to be released on the wolf.game website.
* 2\. The player connects Metamask and selects an unrevealed Farmer that they own along with a Gem that they own.
* 3\. The player submits a transaction which burns the Gem and guarantees that their Farmer will be of the Type of their Gem. For instance, submitting a Big Daddy Gem with a Farmer guarantees that the Farmer will be a Big Daddy. Using a Gem guarantees only the Type of Farmer; the remaining traits are randomly determined and selected from hundreds of traits of varying rarity across five categories.
* 4\. After the Submission Deadline, Farmers will be revealed.<br>

**Unused Gems**

Any Gems that are not used before the deadline will not have future use. Guaranteeing Farmer rarity is their one and only purpose.\
\
Players without Gems will still have a chance at rare Types and Traits.

# Timeline

#### Wolf Game is an Ethereum-based game and NFT risk protocol.
